City Room Rentals, a specialist in consultancy and booking management services for Universities and Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) providers, has been awarded a long term contract to provide booking services for the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) for up to five years.
Under the contract, which was awarded through a highly competitive public tender procurement process, City Room Rentals will supply all hotel booking service provisions at UHI’s purpose-built student residences in Inverness, Dornoch, Elgin, and Fort William. UHI will retain on-site operational management.
Naomi van Keulen, Partnerships Manager of City Room Rentals, said: “We are delighted to be awarded this contract win which was highly sought after, as evidenced by the significant interest from bidders. The partnership with UHI will allow us to build on shared previous successes within the industry across the higher education and PBSA sector, leveraging our expertise.
“We look forward to extending our relationship further and to achieving the commercial objectives set by UHI.”
With tourist numbers once again on the rise, along with inbound international students, City Room Rentals aims to deliver growth in revenue across empty assets both throughout the academic year and during university holiday periods.
Tim Skyrme, Head of Facilities and Procurement of UHI, said: “There was no shortage of strong candidates for this contract, and competition was fierce. With their experience and proven track record as service and accommodation providers, it was clear that City Room Rentals was the right choice thanks to their vast experience in this space. We are looking forward to working closely together over the next five years to deliver high-quality, seamless accommodation experiences to our campus users.”
UHI offers both further and higher education across 12 colleges and research institutions to more than 30,000 students.
City Room Rentals handles booking and channel management for a range of PBSA providers and universities, matching its clients with vacant campus accommodation via a full end-to-end booking management service.
