Edinburgh based online student and tourist accommodation platform City Room Rentals have launched their first venture in Dublin. The city centre accommodation will have capacity for up to 264 students and tourists providing an all year round accommodation opportunity for visitors to Dublin.
City Room Rentals is an online platform that matches and connects students and tourists around the world with purpose built student accommodation. In the space of two years the business has grown to cover many of the UK’s major cities. This will be the 17th city that City Room Rentals have launched after only three years of trading. They now have many of the UK’s most notable cities covered to offer affordable purpose built student accommodation during term time, they then utilise the rooms for tourism purposes the rest of the year.
City Room Rentals have been able to meet the growing demand for affordable accommodation needs in the UK’s most vibrant cities. Now, with the emergence of the growth of purpose built student accommodation in Ireland, the company are enthusiastic to begin their collaboration to support even more students and universities throughout the country.
Founder Nick Findlay, CEO of City Room Rentals said “Ireland is an exciting growth market for both international students and historically has always had a strong tourist trade so we are thrilled to expand our services into Ireland. We are currently in a strong acquisition phase of the business, and spreading our wings geographically is core to our ongoing strategy. Our model is based on contracting with the property owners/developers to provide a bookable online platform for students during term time and tourists outside of this so we are creating a 364 day a year rental proposition. It is a simple concept which has been compared to Airbnb- our aspirations are global so we need to scale our business geographically to achieve the scalability we desire."
The company promotes around 95,000 rooms in the UK and has trebled its turnover since launch in 2014. Findlay added "We are currently looking at other European cities to collaborate with and our forecasts for future growth are looking strong for 2018 and beyond."
