City Room Rentals | General
City Room Rentals is delighted to announce that Nick Findlay, Managing Director and Co-Founder, has been selected as a finalist by the Royal Bank of Scotland Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
The awards:
Founded in 2013, The Great British Entrepreneur Awards celebrates entrepreneurs and their business journey. The Awards are split into 14 categories and held in eight regions. These include the Midlands, Wales, the South West, the North East, the North West, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and London & the South East. As a result, Nick is one of 6 entrepreneurs shortlisted for Service Industries in Scotland. This Award will be presented to those who have led the way in providing a new or established service in their industry. In addition, the Judges added:
“The winner will demonstrate commitment and flair for their sector, and exhibit industry-honed skills to innovate and offer something unique in their field. Central to their success will be a sustained customer experience and satisfaction that makes them stand out from the competition.”
The Company:
The above is something that City Room Rentals feel they have demonstrated. City Room Rentals is a leading online accommodation platform. They connect students from around the world with purpose-built, affordable, high-quality accommodation. Consequently, the company has now created a commercial hotel division. This will provide partners with the expertise to utilise underused assets as hotels. As a result, they have some of the largest institutions and operators as long-term partners. They include Global Student Accommodation (GSA), City Heart Living, Student Roost to name but a few. Furthermore, the fast-growing company arranged more than 92,000 total room nights across the UK and Ireland last year.
Other awards:
In addition, the company has been nominated for various other awards over the years. In 2015 under their original name, Edinburgh Room Rentals came runner up at the inaugural STEP business awards. The following year they won the ‘Spirit of EIE’award and last year were nominated for, ‘Innovative Business of the Year.’ They were also shortlisted for ‘Agency team of Year’ at the Student Accommodation Conference & Awards, organised by Property Week. Recognised as leading innovators in the sector with the ability to provide in-depth expertise in all areas of student accommodation. In addition, offering the best possible advice and support to clientele within this niche asset class. Prime examples of why they have been selected for this prestigious award.
Nick said “I’m delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. I’m very passionate about this industry and proud of what we have achieved at City Room Rentals. With such tough competition, it’s an honour to have been selected. I wish everyone the best of luck.”
The regional final will take place in October with the National Final due to take place in November.
