Nick and Anna decided to undertake this gruelling 10km assault course in May in aid of The Rock Trust. The charity works tirelessly to support young people and is City Room Rentals selected charity for 2016.
The Rock Trust works throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians with vulnerable and homeless young people aged between 16 and 25 to assist them to avoid homelessness and build the personal capacity to have a healthy and independent adult life. Whilst the number of people becoming homeless has been reducing in recent years, 16 to 24 year olds make up approximately 14% of Edinburgh’s population, but they make up approximately 32% of the homeless demographic. Although many of these young people will never become street homeless, The Rock Trust works hard to ensure their service is extended and accessible to those who require assistance.
There were some weary faces in the office this week and taking the stairs presented a significant challenge for stiff legs! But just a quick glance at what we achieved makes it all worthwhile with £345 raised, and counting.
The race included some interesting challenges, including the Baboon bars, mud slides and tyre carrying!
So success all round and on to the next challenge, though maybe give the legs a few more days to recover first.
