The Outdoor Capital of the UK
Given its location at the base of the UK’s highest peak, you won’t be surprised to hear that Fort William holds this prestigious title. It is the perfect place to try your hand at a host of outdoor activities. From fishing to mountain biking, skiing and even white water rafting there is plenty to get your adrenalin coursing. If you fancy a weekend of unbridled adventure, then make sure you prepare properly.

West Highland Museum
The Highlands have a rich culture and a strong idea of tradition – the West Highland Museum is the perfect place to learn about this unique part of the British Isles. From the Jacobite rebellion to commando training in World War Two, no stone is left unturned. Jacobite Steam Train
The iconic train scenes from Harry Potter were shot on this line and the Jacobite Steam Train is your chance to take the same route in an historic steam powered train. Starting at Fort William the journey will take you to Mallaig – expect to see some of the most splendid scenery in the whole of the UK. If you want to you can book a longer trip on the train that takes you on a tour of the country.
Ben Nevis Distillery
Nothing is quite as quintessentially Scottish as whisky and at the Ben Nevis distillery you get to see how Scotland’s national drink is made. The excellent tour guides will explain how whisky is made and show you the stills used. It will all end with a chance to sample some of the delights created by this traditional distillery.
